Loren Doucette lives and works in Gloucester, MA. Lorens work has shown in solo and group exhibitions on the North Shore regularly since 2006 and she is a member of the Rocky Neck Art Colony. She received a BFA in Drawing and Painting in Spring 2013 from Montserrat College of Art where she graduated at the top of her class and was the recipient of two scholarship awards from the college. In summer 2011, Loren participated in Montserrat's study-abroad program in Viterbo, Italy where her month-long studies demanded daily work on the landscape. It was there that her love of landscape painting grew and became her primary interest. Since 2013, she has extended her European exploration to Lourdes and Paris, France where the landscape, people and art she encountered there continue to inspire her work. Lorens work was shown in a successful exhibit at Flatrocks Gallery in Lanesville, MA where she showed alongside her teacher at Montserrat, Tim Harney. Her work has been featured in the Boston Globe and in the July 2014 Issue of Artscope Magazine. Most recently, her work was included in a group alumni and faculty exhibit at the Rockport Art Association. She currently focuses on different Cape Ann locations for extended periods giving her the time to create a series from the location. Her work can be viewed by appointment per request at Loren Doucette Studio in Gloucester, MA.
